Michael Rasheed

Managing Director, Marlin Group.

Having strong family links to the operation of hotels and taverns in South Australia, Michael has been involved in the hospitality industry for most of his life. Marlin Group was established in 1985 with the purchase of the Old Melbourne Hotel in the Perth CBD.

In 1988/9, Michael acquired the Red Lion Hotel in Northbridge, WA and undertook a significant redevelopment of the site, creating the Aberdeen Hotel, one of WA’s most successful pubs.

Since this time, Michael has driven the Group to become a significant hospitality and property development company based in Western Australia, but flexible in its geographic focus. His exposure has included rural, city and suburban hotels, nightclubs, restaurants, motels and cafes across five states.

He has capitalized on a diverse array of property opportunities and is also looking to drive further growth in Marlin’s agriculture business.

Michael has a very hands-on approach and is actively involved in improving the existing businesses, identifying growth opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with the industry and regulators and generally participating in the development of the hospitality industry.
